To continue serving our less fortunate neighbors and making the most of an impact in our community, Love Thy Neighbor Service Organization is partnering with the South Texas Golf Association for a charity golf tournament fundraiser in September, and we are inviting YOU to participate and help us impact thousands of children and families across South Texas.

Love Thy Neighbor is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that specializes at helping children and families in need throughout the South Texas Community.  We serve the poorest of the poor, extremely low-income and colonia children identified by schools, Boys and Girls Club directors, and community center workers as being most in need of assistance with new shoes, backpacks, school supplies, and during the holiday season, with gifts.  Our mission is to bring together charitable-minded individuals to help demonstrate love and give back to our neighbors in need.

The golf tournament will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Monte Cristo Golf Club in Edinburg, Texas.  A welcome reception for all registered teams, sponsors, and our donors will be held the evening of Friday, September 6, 2013, which will be an opportunity to mix and mingle with our partners, sponsors and contributors. Many of our local and state elected officials are our major contributors and will be in attendance at the reception, which will also include a silent auction and entertainment.

Join us for a weekend of fun, sun, and service!  Register for one of our sponsorship levels to sign your team up.  You can also sign up to serve as a volunteer for the golf tournament as well.  Sign up now here.

Thank you for helping us continue to serve our neighbors in need!

Over 1,000 people and over 1,000 gifts were given away during our Back-to-School Event in Edinburg.  Hundreds of children and their families were left smiling with new shoes, backpacks, school supplies and more. A fun-filled day of activities and games for the children and health care services for the families.

It was great to see the community come together for our less fortunate neighbors!  As always, Love Thy Neighbor is grateful for the support of our donors and partner organizations!

To ensure that children in need also get Christmas gifts, Love Thy Neighbor Service Organization partnered w/ HidalgoCounty, Garza Elementary in McAllen, & the South Texas Literacy Coalition to collect, buy and distribute toys, books and new shoes. ‘Santa Claus’ gave out over 1,000 free gifts to children affected by Hurricane Alex and the Rio Grande River summer flooding! I believe that the best way to find the center of your BEing is through the SERVICE of others…SERVICE allows ourselves to have deep reflections within ourselves. In other words, in a self-dialogue of deep questions & answers, we find more revelations of TRUTH. This “still small voice” helps & guides us. I call this Communion with GOD, we are daily doing it & the way to obtain more of it, is through SERVICE.
